Made in Scotland, touring
to Ireland

La bohème is now finishing up the Scottish leg of the tour, before crossing the Irish Sea in June.

Building on the sell-out success of La traviata last year, we’re returning to the Grand Opera House in Belfast, before heading south across the border for to the Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin, for Scottish Opera’s very first trip to the Republic of Ireland.

Baby Boom

Our new show for young children and families, Baby O has been a sell-out success, getting a fantastic reception across the tour. It’s also had a great amount of press attention, appearing on BBC & STV news, STV’s The Hour, a host of radio and press coverage, plus international interest from Italy, Spain, Germany and the USA!

The concert features Bartok's Hungarian Sketches, Mendelssohn’s Overture and Incidental Music from A Midsummer Night's Dream, plus Scottish Opera Emerging Artist, soprano Nadine Livingstone, sings two beautiful operatic arias from Mozart's Idomeneo and Rossini's Il Turco in Italia.

Get Connected

It’s recruitment time again as we search for a new crop of young people to join our youth opera programme, Connect. Connect is a training programme for young singers and, this year for the first time, instrumentalists, which allows them to experience the world of professional opera.

We’re looking for 14 to 21 year olds – if you or someone you know would enjoy Connect, why not apply for an audition? For full dates and details, head to our website

Unlock your Creativity

Unlock your Creativity

Hitting the High Notes is a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for Primary School Teachers. You don't have to love opera or be a singer to take part. We'll help you to develop your own creativity, giving you the confidence to use the arts as a creative tool for learning and teaching.

The two-day course is FREE and takes place on Sat 15 & Sun 16 May. If you want to know more, contact Judith in our Education team.

All will be revealed...

And finally, you’re the first to know that our new Season goes live in just three short weeks on Wed 26 May! Check out a brochure and or visit the website to get full information on all of our operas, events and more.
