Robert Ştrebeli and Gabriela Drinceanu are exhibiting at Brukenthal National Museum

Between the 9th and the 28th of November 2011, Robert Robert Ştrebeli and Gabriela Drinceanu are exhibiting at Brukenthal National  Museum of Sibiu. This exhinition contains Ștrebeli's paintures and Drinceanu's sculputer.

The exhibition entitled Between Heaven and Earth brings together paintings belonging to Robert Ştrebeli (Baia Mare) and sculpture made by artist Gabriela Drinceanu (Iaşi).

The works are endowed with a strong spirituality, inspired by Romanic sensitivity and forms, in particular of the Iberian Peninsula one, which amalgamates traditions of late Roman art, the art of early Christianity and even older sources: the barbaric local art or that appertaining to Germanic migrations over which were overlapped Oriental influences, hermetic and mystical doctrines of the early Middle Ages, all filtered through the experience of the works of great artists of the 20^th century in the Mediterranean and even in Latin America, but also through intellectual experiences and life of the artists.

In this formula, the exhibition proposes a return to the origins of European culture and civilization at the close of Classical Antiquity. It is a sincere, original art, austere but full of meanings while anchored in the European perennial values of sensitivity, rejecting the superficiality and artificiality of no perspective that result from the repeated copying of Byzantine and post-Byzantine models.

The works of Robert Ştrebeli have enjoyed high appreciation during an exhibition organized in Spain, at Salamanca, where the artist has accomplished a part of the undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
