Anaid Art Gallery presents The Burning Forest signed TARA (von Neudorf)
Location: Ruiterskwartier 6, Leeuwarden
The exhibition "The Burning Forest" signed Tara (von Neudorf) includes a selection of 30 graphic works made between 2009 to 2010 on the colonization and de-colonization of Transylvania. Saxon villages in Transylvania have suffered a strong de-popularization. The only things left behind the leaving of the Saxons from Transylvania are their homes and churches. The church meeting place of the community has today become a silent witness of history. "The Burning Forest" signed Tara (von Neudorf) is a reflection on the disappearance of a civilization, a culture, of the "homo saxsonicus.

Luc Tuymans
Luc Tuymans (Belgian, b. 1958) is considered one of the most significant European painters of his generation and he has been an enduring influence on younger and emerging artists. Born and raised in Antwerp, where he lives and works, Tuymans is an inheritor to the vast tradition of Northern European painting. At the same time, as a child of the 1950s, his relationship to the medium is understandably influenced by photography, television, and cinema.

YADID RUBIN: PLOWED COLOR
Yadid Rubin's paintings offer a new syntax of landscape, which does not correspond with the concepts of subjectivity, intimacy and authenticity through which Israeli art has woven its identity. This is landscape delighting in the "decorative," the "synthetic" and the "beautiful"terms that were unmentionable for many years in Israeli art's inner circle; these are landscape paintings in which the sense of place and its absence exist side by side, composing a new reality.

Art in The Auditorium
Location: The Adam Gallery
City Gallery Wellington is one of ten international partners in the Art in the Auditorium programe, where each venue uses their auditorium space to screen single channel video works in a comfortable environment*. Each selects work by an artist based in their country which is sent to the other venues to be screened. The project is a fleet-footed and exciting way to share international video work.
City Gallery Wellington has selected Auckland-based artist Nova Paul as our contribution for this round of the programe. The first screenings of Pauls Pink and White Terraces (2006) took place at GAMeC, in Bergamo Italy in September 2009, and at the Whitechapel Gallery in January 2010.
