22 Iunie 2011

New Finnish Actor Generation and Intriguing International VisitorsTampere Theatre Festival is the oldest and the largest professional theatre festival in the Nordic countries serving as a display window for the finest Finnish and international productions. The festival programme includes 21st century drama, classics, dancetheatre and street theatre.

This year the Artistic Team of Tampere Theatre Festival looked for intriguing international visitors with exceptional performances, as well as work of the new Finnish actor generation and playwrights.
The Finnish Programme includes concluding parts of two beloved trilogies: Lämminveriset (Warmbloods) by Sirkku Peltola and Leea Klemola's New Karleby, which have already received international kudos. Performances such as Paradise (Paratiisi) by Sini Pesonen feature a new actor generation and novel esthetics.
The world-widely acclaimed and awarded international guests include Australian, Belgian, Chilean, Czech, Irish and Swedish productions.
The numerously awarded Jan Lauwers' and Needcompany's Deer House explores war and violence in modern Europe; Guillermo Calderón and Teatro en el Blanco's Diciembre looks into nationalism, racism and pacifism in Chile the year 2014. David Collins and Shane Dundas from Umbilical Brothers spice up the programme with humour and pure acting work technique in their performance Don't Explain.
The fascinating 43rd edition of the festival takes place from 1st to 7th of August 2011.
