Nicolae Manda, dean of the National University for Theatre and Cinema, has encouraged the set up of the tangaProject dramAcum groups and is among the initiators of the platform for independent theatre in Romania.

Actor Balázs Attila is the Director of the Hungarian Theatre in Timisoara. This year, according to UNITER, the institution he leads came with the best performance of the year– “Rosencrantz and Guildernstern Are Dead” by Tom Stoppard, directed by Victor Ioan Frunza. Balázs Attila told us about the new performance they prepare, as well as the Euro-Regional Festival that the Hungarian Theatre will organise in May 2010.

“Awards Are And Will Always Be For The Worthy”
Actor with the Youth Theatre in Piatra Neamt, Cezar Antal is the leading actor in most of the performances of this company. He is currently rehearsing for “Romania 21”, on a text written by Stefan Peca and directed by Pia Furtado.

Cătălin Dorian Florescu left Romania in 1982, settling in Zürich .For Wunderzeit (Time of Wonders), published by Pendo Publishing House from Zürich, he was awarded with Pro Helvetia and Hermann Lenz prizes (2001)and the book was consider the German book of the year in Zürich. Furthermore, the book received the Chamisso Award of Bayern Academy (2002) and Anna Seghers Prize (2003).

Ionuţ Caras, actor at the National Theatre from Cluj, is nominated for the UNITER 2010 Awards, at the category- The best actor in a leading role- for the score in Walpurgis Night or The steps of the Commander by Venedikt Erofeev and directd by Mihai Măniuţiu.

The film made by Florin Şerban and based upon Andreea Vălean ’s work When I want to whistle, I whistle won last week The Golden Bear at the Film Festival from Berlin. Andreea Vălean is one of the most popular dramaturges from Romania. When I want to whistle, I whistle was staged on numerous theatres from Romania. For Andreea Vălean, the experience of participating at feature film festivals didn’t have its premiere at Berlin; in 2002, the movie 17 Minutes Overdue by Andreea Vălean, directed by Cătălin Mitulescu was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.

He enjoys the merits of a normal ascent, because he is a good actor. Călin Stanciu Jr had a general impact with in his role as Susan from “The Roosevelt Square” (The National Theatre from Timişoara). Stanciu Jr. also acts in „Bye bye America”, directed by Cristian Ban (TNTm) and he is a protagonist in the movie Anaconda 4”.
