Andrei Gherghe is this year's awardee in the Young Actor Gala. He has proven to be not only a young actor, as endorsed by his ID, but also the best young actor. We discussed with this emerging artist about theatre, world, and life.

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw was official opened in November 2006, but work here started in May, when I and the director at the time, Dorian Branea (now director to RCI London) were assigned the positions.

Romanian pianist settled in New York, Vlad Iftinca has developed an outstanding career in the international world of opera. I don't know much about fishing but I watch in amazement the Discovery Channel documentaries. I am touched by Rex Hunt, the nice old man who kisses small fish and let the go back into the water and I'm terrified when I see the huge creatures caught by Jeremy Wade in “River Monsters”.

Catalin Ursu is the only male actor of the cast of the performance "Switch", staged by choreographer Pal Frenak at the National Theatre of Timisoara. I asked Catalin about how pleasant or painful was his incursion into the feminine world.

Twice nominated (2005 & 2006) for the award Best European Jazz Musician by the Hans Koller Foundation in Austria, Lucian Ban is a New York pianist and composer, from Romania, born in Cluj. He is playing is various jazz set with some of the most reputed international musicians. This June, he will hold three concerts in Romania:

He is a director and an actor and plays for the second time in Romania, at the German State Theatre in Timisoara. After the "Kamikaze" by Alina Nelega (2007), Wolf E. Rahlfs (www.wolfrahlfs.de) plays the lead role in "Don Carlos" by Schiller, directed by Alexander Hausvater – a performance to be premiered on Saturday, May 21 2011. Wolf E. Rahlfs has a rich experience as a director and actor in Germany.

Director and stage designer Mihai Constantin Ranin has been leading for some time the Theatre in Deva, after having led for eight years the Theatre in Târgovişte – he is still listed as director on the institution’s website (http://www.tmtgv.ro/tonybulandra/contact.php ).
