International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra - presentation

belongs to the most important cultural events in Slovakia.
It is a selective non-competitive presentation of European drama theatre, but it introduces also other kinds of dramatic arts and art in general.
The 15^th year became the real peak of the up-to-now festivals existence from the conceptual point of view as well as regarding the organization and visit rate. The high quality and variety of the programme as well as the presence of world theatre legends attracted a record number of individual foreign observers (77 from 25 countries), a high media interest and interest of the spectators (the total number of spectators of all events 16 300, the Main Programme visit rate 110%).
A part of the Divadelná Nitra´s activity within the European space is its position as a Slovak contact and information point for foreign countries, promoter of Slovak theatre and partner in multinational projects.
The Divadelná Nitra is an intricately structured cultural event umbrelled by the non-governmental association of the same name (The Divadelná Nitra Association - ADN), and since its beginnings it has obtained finances from different resources from Slovakia and abroad (in 2006 the festival costs were covered by financial and non-financial support of 102 subjects, the number of subjects which donated 2% off tax is impossible to learn).
