Jérôme Bel was born in 1964 and worked with Angelina Preljocaj, Joëlle Bouvier and Régis Rim, Daniel Larrier and Catherine Sagna. He brought to the centre of his performances the term ''seated movement''.

During the period March 15th - March 25th, at the National Centre of Dance Bucharest the Europe in Motion dance festival takes place in which will participate 12 young choreographers from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Romania, 3 institutions from Europe-Springdance (Netherlands), Dance 4 (Great Britain) and CNDB - they are the partners of this project in which participate Amy Raymond, Giulia Mureddu, Jaakko Toivonen and Liat Magnezy from the Netherlands, Hetain Patel, Chris Dugrenier, Zoi Dimitriou and Robin Dingemans from Great Britain, Cătălina Gubandru, Paul Dunca, Andreea Novac and Mihaela Dancs from Romania.

The Platform of Contemporary Dance (17th - 20th of September) is an identity manifest through which the representatives of a phenomenon that has constantly been deprived of authority reclaim the most democratic right: the right to socio-cultural representation. A right which, no matter how absurd it would seem, was denied to the domain of artistic action in which the debate of the fundamental concepts of the contemporary art would be best placed.

The Platform of Contemporary Dance was opened on September 17th by Mihai Mihalcea, the director of the National Centre of Dance in Bucharest, Vava Ştefănescu, artistic director NCDB and by the Minister of Culture, Theodor Paleologul, whose question - "Hey you ephemeral is it referring to me?" - was among the few good jokes of a minister who wants to have humour at any costs and who, often, screws it up.
