Yael Bartana
and Europe will be stunned
Moderna Museet Malmö is proud to present the internationally acclaimed film and video artist Yael Bartana as our main exhibition this summer.
The exhibition and Europe will be stunned will occupy the entire Turbine Hall and will screen the artist’s five most recent productions. Oscillating between history and an imagined future, these films exist in a troubled borderland between documentary, propaganda and fiction.

Irish High Crosses
Irish High Cross is a new exhibition, which brings together 6 plaster-of-Paris casts along with a selection of early Medieval treasures. You will be able to examine and compare how the High Crosses of early Christian Ireland were decorated with pictures, which taught biblical stories to the largely illiterate population.

Neillí Mulcahy – Irish Haute Couture of the 50s and 60s
Location: Room 9, Second Floor, West Block, Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin 7.
This exhibition looks at the work of the Irish fashion designer, Neillí Mulcahy. From 1951 to 1969 Neillí ran a successful Dublin salon producing haute couture garments. She was known for her innovative use of Irish tweeds and collaborated with hand weavers to produce fabrics in lightweight weaves and vibrant colours.

Franciscan Faith: Sacred Art in Ireland 1600 - 1750
This exhibition coincides with the 400th anniversary of the founding, in 1607, of the illustrious Franciscan college at Louvain in the Spanish Netherlands, now Belgium. It includes religious silver and other material from several of the Franciscan houses, displayed together for the first time. Indeed, many of the pieces have never previously been publicly exhibited.

MUDAM COLLECTION
Mudam devotes its first floor, over 800 m2, to its collection, presenting it through themed exhibitions. Until November the public will thus be able to discover the works of 36 artists, grouped into two sequences, “Of our faces (and our bodies)” and “Of our artificiality”. Exploring the rest of the museum, the visitor will also come across other works of the collection, some of which - such as the Chapel by Wim Delvoye - have been especially created for the museum.

PERFORMANCE WITH THE PUBLIC’S PARTICIPATION
Y8 looks at the possibility of establishing the philosophy and practice of yoga within art by transferring it to the architecturally and socially codified context of exhibition spaces. Each session starts with an introductory talk followed by a practice of breathing, postures and relaxation.

Ceci n’est pas un Casino (This is not a Casino): this must be the most-uttered statement regarding Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain to date. Frankly, who would not mistake it for a gambling hall, reading only the name? The title of this exhibition is both programmatic and misleading: it presents contemporary pieces around the subjects of playing and gambling. Each of the artworks constitutes, as it were, an invitation to entertainment, be it through video games, playgrounds or carrousels... But one reality remains: playing impossible!

Luxembourg at the universal exhibitions, from London to Shanghai (1851-2010)”. The history of the Luxembourg’s participations in these exhibitions has never been studied, therefore there has been hardworking involved in organizing this exhibition. Talking about big exhibitions, Luxembourg has been taking part in all 23.
